General Adult Psychiatry

Elyse D. Weiner, MD, FAPM is board certified in adult psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine. She is a fellow of the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine.

Dr. Weiner practices general adult psychiatry, psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.  Dr. Weiner has experience with a wide range of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, psychosis, post traumatic stress disorder, and psychiatric disorders occurring with medical conditions. She subspecializes in the treatment of pregnant and postpartum patients. 

She co-edited the first and second editions of On Call: Psychiatry and co-authored numerous other scholarly publications in the field of psychiatry. Dr. Weiner concentrates on both individual psychotherapy as well as psychopharmacological intervention, when necessary.

She holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She was a resident and chief resident at the New York University School of Medicine and completed her Psychosomatic Medicine fellowship at the Bellevue Hospital Center. She currently is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and the New York University School of Medicine.

As of December 1, 2019 Dr. Weiner has consolidated her Manhattan and her Park Slope practice to her Manhattan office.
